Robby&nbsp;and&nbsp;Mauri&nbsp;found&nbsp;each&nbsp;other&nbsp;in&nbsp;a&nbsp;slightly&nbsp;different&nbsp;way&nbsp;for&nbsp;our&nbsp;generation&nbsp;-&nbsp;a&nbsp;good&nbsp;old-fashioned&nbsp;(semi)&nbsp;blind&nbsp;date.&nbsp;It&nbsp;all&nbsp;started&nbsp;with&nbsp;Tawnya&nbsp;(Robby’s&nbsp;boss)&nbsp;and&nbsp;Lori&nbsp;(Mauri’s&nbsp;mom). In&nbsp;July&nbsp;of&nbsp;2022,&nbsp;Kory,&nbsp;Lori,&nbsp;JD,&nbsp;and&nbsp;Tawnya&nbsp;went&nbsp;to&nbsp;a&nbsp;James&nbsp;Taylor&nbsp;concert&nbsp;together.&nbsp;Tawnya&nbsp;learned&nbsp;Mauri&nbsp;was&nbsp;single&nbsp;and&nbsp;this&nbsp;set&nbsp;Tawyna’s&nbsp;matchmaking&nbsp;gears&nbsp;in&nbsp;motion.&nbsp;Tawyna&nbsp;mentioned&nbsp;this&nbsp;girl&nbsp;that&nbsp;Robby&nbsp;needed&nbsp;to&nbsp;meet&nbsp;a&nbsp;few&nbsp;times&nbsp;shortly&nbsp;after.&nbsp;She&nbsp;was&nbsp;relentlessly&nbsp;texting&nbsp;Lori&nbsp;for&nbsp;photos&nbsp;of&nbsp;Mauri.&nbsp;Tawnya&nbsp;even&nbsp;shared&nbsp;some&nbsp;very&nbsp;professional&nbsp;greenhouse&nbsp;shots&nbsp;with&nbsp;Robby&nbsp;and&nbsp;some&nbsp;coworkers. Now,&nbsp;Robby&nbsp;had&nbsp;no&nbsp;interest&nbsp;being&nbsp;set&nbsp;up,&nbsp;let&nbsp;alone&nbsp;being&nbsp;set&nbsp;up&nbsp;by&nbsp;his&nbsp;boss.&nbsp;It&nbsp;was&nbsp;finally&nbsp;on&nbsp;a&nbsp;trip&nbsp;to&nbsp;Gunnison&nbsp;where&nbsp;Tawnya&nbsp;showed&nbsp;him&nbsp;these&nbsp;photos&nbsp;of&nbsp;Mauri&nbsp;and&nbsp;he&nbsp;was&nbsp;sold&nbsp;on&nbsp;the&nbsp;spot.&nbsp;His&nbsp;boss&nbsp;had&nbsp;been&nbsp;hiding&nbsp;this&nbsp;Viking&nbsp;princess&nbsp;from&nbsp;him&nbsp;this&nbsp;whole&nbsp;time?&nbsp;“And&nbsp;by&nbsp;the&nbsp;way,&nbsp;she&nbsp;dirt&nbsp;bikes&nbsp;too,”&nbsp;Tawnya&nbsp;added.&nbsp;It&nbsp;was&nbsp;at&nbsp;that&nbsp;moment&nbsp;that&nbsp;Robby&nbsp;learned&nbsp;that&nbsp;unicorns&nbsp;do&nbsp;in&nbsp;fact&nbsp;exist. Tawnya&nbsp;shared&nbsp;all&nbsp;the&nbsp;positive&nbsp;qualities&nbsp;of&nbsp;Robby&nbsp;and&nbsp;a&nbsp;few&nbsp;more&nbsp;lettuce&nbsp;and&nbsp;fish-filled&nbsp;photos&nbsp;with&nbsp;Mauri,&nbsp;and&nbsp;she&nbsp;agreed&nbsp;to&nbsp;meet&nbsp;this&nbsp;mysterious&nbsp;cook/greenhouse-farm-builder&nbsp;man. Robby&nbsp;and&nbsp;Mauri&nbsp;call&nbsp;their&nbsp;first&nbsp;date&nbsp;"the&nbsp;business&nbsp;meeting".&nbsp;Both&nbsp;parties&nbsp;were&nbsp;very&nbsp;busy&nbsp;–&nbsp;Robby&nbsp;was&nbsp;preparing&nbsp;to&nbsp;leave&nbsp;the&nbsp;state&nbsp;for&nbsp;three&nbsp;weeks&nbsp;of&nbsp;work&nbsp;and&nbsp;vacation&nbsp;and&nbsp;Mauri&nbsp;had&nbsp;plans&nbsp;each&nbsp;night&nbsp;that&nbsp;week&nbsp;after&nbsp;work.&nbsp;Tawyna&nbsp;was&nbsp;adamant&nbsp;they&nbsp;meet&nbsp;before&nbsp;Robby&nbsp;left&nbsp;the&nbsp;state,&nbsp;so&nbsp;the&nbsp;two&nbsp;made&nbsp;it&nbsp;work&nbsp;on&nbsp;a&nbsp;Monday&nbsp;afternoon&nbsp;in&nbsp;mid-August&nbsp;at&nbsp;Green&nbsp;Mountain&nbsp;Brewery.&nbsp;Mauri&nbsp;was&nbsp;flying&nbsp;high&nbsp;from&nbsp;closing&nbsp;on&nbsp;her&nbsp;house&nbsp;just&nbsp;a&nbsp;few&nbsp;hours&nbsp;earlier.&nbsp;Mauri&nbsp;arrived&nbsp;at&nbsp;the&nbsp;business&nbsp;meeting&nbsp;first&nbsp;(quite&nbsp;unlike&nbsp;her&nbsp;to&nbsp;be&nbsp;early)&nbsp;and&nbsp;was&nbsp;immediately&nbsp;impressed&nbsp;with&nbsp;Robby’s&nbsp;enthusiasm&nbsp;and&nbsp;how&nbsp;interested&nbsp;he&nbsp;was&nbsp;to&nbsp;learn&nbsp;about&nbsp;her.&nbsp;Robby&nbsp;was&nbsp;awestruck&nbsp;instantly&nbsp;by&nbsp;her&nbsp;enthusiastic&nbsp;smile&nbsp;and&nbsp;graceful&nbsp;confidence.&nbsp;They&nbsp;both&nbsp;left&nbsp;the&nbsp;hour&nbsp;long&nbsp;business&nbsp;meeting&nbsp;first&nbsp;date&nbsp;smiling&nbsp;and&nbsp;excited&nbsp;to&nbsp;see&nbsp;each&nbsp;other&nbsp;again. Date&nbsp;two&nbsp;was&nbsp;a&nbsp;hike&nbsp;on&nbsp;North&nbsp;Table&nbsp;Mountain,&nbsp;a&nbsp;beer&nbsp;at&nbsp;New&nbsp;Terrain,&nbsp;great&nbsp;conversation&nbsp;(one&nbsp;of&nbsp;the&nbsp;topics&nbsp;being&nbsp;Kesha,&nbsp;Robby’s&nbsp;idol),&nbsp;and&nbsp;ended&nbsp;with&nbsp;a&nbsp;cheeky&nbsp;parking&nbsp;lot&nbsp;smooch.&nbsp;Date&nbsp;three&nbsp;is&nbsp;where&nbsp;Mauri&nbsp;decided&nbsp;she&nbsp;could&nbsp;enjoy&nbsp;life&nbsp;with&nbsp;this&nbsp;guy.&nbsp;Robby&nbsp;took&nbsp;her&nbsp;on&nbsp;a&nbsp;Mountain&nbsp;Bike&nbsp;ride&nbsp;(where&nbsp;she&nbsp;learned&nbsp;how&nbsp;to&nbsp;crack-and-pass)&nbsp;and&nbsp;to&nbsp;the&nbsp;World&nbsp;Famous&nbsp;Dark&nbsp;Horse&nbsp;for&nbsp;dinner&nbsp;(don’t&nbsp;worry,&nbsp;she&nbsp;certainly&nbsp;walked&nbsp;in&nbsp;the&nbsp;wrong&nbsp;bathroom).&nbsp;Robby&nbsp;and&nbsp;Mauri&nbsp;balanced&nbsp;the&nbsp;work&nbsp;and&nbsp;the&nbsp;fun&nbsp;early&nbsp;on&nbsp;in&nbsp;their&nbsp;relationship&nbsp;-&nbsp;Robby&nbsp;braved&nbsp;scraping&nbsp;the&nbsp;popcorn&nbsp;ceilings&nbsp;in&nbsp;Mauri’s&nbsp;house&nbsp;and&nbsp;they&nbsp;went&nbsp;dirt&nbsp;bike&nbsp;riding&nbsp;together&nbsp;for&nbsp;the&nbsp;first&nbsp;time&nbsp;the&nbsp;day&nbsp;after.&nbsp;They&nbsp;decided&nbsp;that&nbsp;they&nbsp;had&nbsp;a&nbsp;good&nbsp;thing&nbsp;going&nbsp;and&nbsp;made&nbsp;it&nbsp;“official”&nbsp;October&nbsp;4,&nbsp;2022. Robby&nbsp;and&nbsp;Mauri’s&nbsp;relationship&nbsp;continued&nbsp;to&nbsp;grow&nbsp;through&nbsp;renovations&nbsp;in&nbsp;both&nbsp;of&nbsp;their&nbsp;houses,&nbsp;a&nbsp;job&nbsp;change,&nbsp;as&nbsp;well&nbsp;as&nbsp;skiing&nbsp;and&nbsp;camping&nbsp;trips.&nbsp;One&nbsp;snowy&nbsp;March&nbsp;day,&nbsp;Robby&nbsp;told&nbsp;Mauri&nbsp;he&nbsp;loved&nbsp;her&nbsp;on&nbsp;the&nbsp;bridge&nbsp;in&nbsp;Nederland&nbsp;after&nbsp;skiing&nbsp;and&nbsp;pizza.&nbsp;Mauri&nbsp;reciprocated&nbsp;and&nbsp;just&nbsp;like&nbsp;that,&nbsp;they&nbsp;were&nbsp;stuck&nbsp;together. After&nbsp;a&nbsp;couple&nbsp;of&nbsp;years&nbsp;they&nbsp;decided&nbsp;to&nbsp;move&nbsp;in&nbsp;together,&nbsp;where&nbsp;Mauri&nbsp;discovered&nbsp;the&nbsp;need&nbsp;for&nbsp;alone&nbsp;time&nbsp;and&nbsp;Robby&nbsp;learned&nbsp;to&nbsp;close&nbsp;dresser&nbsp;drawers&nbsp;for&nbsp;the&nbsp;first&nbsp;time.&nbsp;On&nbsp;October&nbsp;1,&nbsp;2025,&nbsp;Robby&nbsp;asked&nbsp;Mauri&nbsp;to&nbsp;go&nbsp;on&nbsp;a&nbsp;“Dirt&nbsp;Bike&nbsp;Date&nbsp;Night”&nbsp;–&nbsp;a&nbsp;frequent&nbsp;occurrence&nbsp;in&nbsp;the&nbsp;household&nbsp;where&nbsp;they&nbsp;ride&nbsp;to&nbsp;various&nbsp;destinations&nbsp;and&nbsp;get&nbsp;a&nbsp;bite&nbsp;to&nbsp;eat.&nbsp;Robby&nbsp;brought&nbsp;Mauri&nbsp;to&nbsp;their&nbsp;favorite&nbsp;campsite&nbsp;(“sunrise-sunset&nbsp;campsite”)&nbsp;on&nbsp;Switzerland&nbsp;Trail&nbsp;in&nbsp;Boulder.&nbsp;Upon&nbsp;arrival&nbsp;he&nbsp;asked&nbsp;her&nbsp;to&nbsp;take&nbsp;photos&nbsp;of&nbsp;the&nbsp;scenery&nbsp;and&nbsp;as&nbsp;she&nbsp;was&nbsp;doing&nbsp;so,&nbsp;walked&nbsp;up&nbsp;behind&nbsp;her&nbsp;and&nbsp;told&nbsp;her&nbsp;to&nbsp;turn&nbsp;around.&nbsp;After&nbsp;trying&nbsp;to&nbsp;walk&nbsp;away,&nbsp;she&nbsp;finally&nbsp;turned&nbsp;around&nbsp;and&nbsp;was&nbsp;ecstatic&nbsp;to&nbsp;see&nbsp;Robby&nbsp;on&nbsp;one&nbsp;knee&nbsp;where&nbsp;he&nbsp;popped&nbsp;the&nbsp;question.&nbsp;She&nbsp;said&nbsp;“of&nbsp;course&nbsp;of&nbsp;course&nbsp;of&nbsp;course!” We&nbsp;cannot&nbsp;be&nbsp;more&nbsp;excited&nbsp;to&nbsp;share&nbsp;this&nbsp;moment&nbsp;in&nbsp;our&nbsp;lives&nbsp;with&nbsp;each&nbsp;of&nbsp;you.&nbsp;It’s&nbsp;all&nbsp;of&nbsp;you&nbsp;and&nbsp;our&nbsp;experiences&nbsp;together&nbsp;that&nbsp;made&nbsp;us&nbsp;the&nbsp;people&nbsp;we&nbsp;are&nbsp;today.&nbsp;We’re&nbsp;eager&nbsp;to&nbsp;start&nbsp;this&nbsp;next&nbsp;chapter&nbsp;of&nbsp;our&nbsp;lives&nbsp;together&nbsp;and&nbsp;celebrate&nbsp;our&nbsp;love&nbsp;in&nbsp;the&nbsp;mountains&nbsp;of&nbsp;Colorado.&nbsp;As&nbsp;I&nbsp;hope&nbsp;you&nbsp;can&nbsp;tell,&nbsp;October&nbsp;is&nbsp;an&nbsp;important&nbsp;month&nbsp;to&nbsp;us! ~ For&nbsp;those&nbsp;of&nbsp;you&nbsp;we&nbsp;have&nbsp;not&nbsp;had&nbsp;the&nbsp;pleasure&nbsp;to&nbsp;meet&nbsp;yet,&nbsp;here&nbsp;is&nbsp;a&nbsp;little&nbsp;more&nbsp;info&nbsp;about&nbsp;the&nbsp;bride&nbsp;and&nbsp;the&nbsp;groom. Robby&nbsp;is&nbsp;from&nbsp;Cos&nbsp;Cob,&nbsp;Connecticut,&nbsp;but&nbsp;he&nbsp;would&nbsp;sooner&nbsp;tell&nbsp;you&nbsp;he&nbsp;is&nbsp;from&nbsp;Vinalhaven,&nbsp;Maine&nbsp;-&nbsp;a&nbsp;small&nbsp;island&nbsp;15&nbsp;miles&nbsp;into&nbsp;the&nbsp;Atlantic&nbsp;ocean&nbsp;where&nbsp;his&nbsp;family&nbsp;has&nbsp;frequented&nbsp;since&nbsp;his&nbsp;mom&nbsp;was&nbsp;a&nbsp;child.&nbsp;He&nbsp;learned&nbsp;a&nbsp;love&nbsp;for&nbsp;the&nbsp;outdoors&nbsp;through&nbsp;growing&nbsp;up&nbsp;in&nbsp;the&nbsp;Boy&nbsp;Scouts,&nbsp;spending&nbsp;time&nbsp;on&nbsp;the&nbsp;ocean.&nbsp;He&nbsp;went&nbsp;to&nbsp;college&nbsp;in&nbsp;Ithaca,&nbsp;New&nbsp;York,&nbsp;where&nbsp;he&nbsp;learned&nbsp;to&nbsp;race&nbsp;downhill&nbsp;skateboards,&nbsp;cook,&nbsp;oh&nbsp;-&nbsp;and&nbsp;received&nbsp;degrees&nbsp;in&nbsp;environmental&nbsp;studies&nbsp;and&nbsp;economics.&nbsp;After&nbsp;a&nbsp;road&nbsp;trip&nbsp;with&nbsp;a&nbsp;friend&nbsp;out&nbsp;west&nbsp;and&nbsp;visiting&nbsp;Boulder&nbsp;for&nbsp;only&nbsp;24&nbsp;hours,&nbsp;he&nbsp;decided&nbsp;to&nbsp;move&nbsp;there&nbsp;in&nbsp;2016&nbsp;after&nbsp;graduation.&nbsp;Since&nbsp;being&nbsp;in&nbsp;Colorado,&nbsp;he&nbsp;has&nbsp;worked&nbsp;at&nbsp;The&nbsp;Aquaponic&nbsp;Source&nbsp;as&nbsp;the&nbsp;Director&nbsp;of&nbsp;Sales&nbsp;&amp;&nbsp;Product&nbsp;Development&nbsp;designing&nbsp;and&nbsp;building&nbsp;aquaponic&nbsp;farms&nbsp;across&nbsp;North&nbsp;America.&nbsp;You&nbsp;can&nbsp;find&nbsp;Robby&nbsp;cooking,&nbsp;mountain&nbsp;biking,&nbsp;skiing,&nbsp;skateboarding,&nbsp;dirt&nbsp;biking,&nbsp;or&nbsp;wrenching&nbsp;on&nbsp;things&nbsp;in&nbsp;the&nbsp;garage. Mauri&nbsp;is&nbsp;from&nbsp;the&nbsp;suburbs&nbsp;of&nbsp;Denver,&nbsp;Colorado&nbsp;and&nbsp;has&nbsp;spent&nbsp;time&nbsp;in&nbsp;the&nbsp;mountains&nbsp;since&nbsp;her&nbsp;first&nbsp;camping&nbsp;trip&nbsp;at&nbsp;3&nbsp;weeks&nbsp;old.&nbsp;She&nbsp;grew&nbsp;up&nbsp;camping,&nbsp;hunting,&nbsp;and&nbsp;chasing&nbsp;her&nbsp;younger&nbsp;sister,&nbsp;Bailey&nbsp;on&nbsp;dirt&nbsp;bikes.&nbsp;Colorado&nbsp;State&nbsp;University&nbsp;stole&nbsp;Mauri’s&nbsp;heart&nbsp;and&nbsp;luckily&nbsp;had&nbsp;the&nbsp;programs&nbsp;she&nbsp;committed&nbsp;to&nbsp;early&nbsp;in&nbsp;her&nbsp;college&nbsp;career&nbsp;-&nbsp;Biomedical&nbsp;and&nbsp;Mechanical&nbsp;engineering.&nbsp;The&nbsp;college&nbsp;years&nbsp;brought&nbsp;a&nbsp;lot&nbsp;of&nbsp;studying,&nbsp;tears,&nbsp;as&nbsp;well&nbsp;as&nbsp;some&nbsp;amazing&nbsp;friends&nbsp;and&nbsp;a&nbsp;stay&nbsp;in&nbsp;Adelaide,&nbsp;South&nbsp;Australia&nbsp;(just&nbsp;ask&nbsp;her,&nbsp;she&nbsp;would&nbsp;love&nbsp;to&nbsp;tell&nbsp;you&nbsp;about&nbsp;it!).&nbsp;After&nbsp;college,&nbsp;she&nbsp;landed&nbsp;her&nbsp;first&nbsp;job&nbsp;as&nbsp;an&nbsp;R&amp;D&nbsp;Engineer&nbsp;at&nbsp;Medtronic&nbsp;working&nbsp;on&nbsp;minimally&nbsp;invasive&nbsp;surgical&nbsp;devices.&nbsp;She&nbsp;is&nbsp;now&nbsp;a&nbsp;project&nbsp;manager&nbsp;for&nbsp;the&nbsp;same&nbsp;company.&nbsp;Mauri&nbsp;loves&nbsp;to&nbsp;hike,&nbsp;read,&nbsp;dirt&nbsp;bike,&nbsp;camp,&nbsp;ski,&nbsp;and&nbsp;simply&nbsp;be&nbsp;moving&nbsp;in&nbsp;some&nbsp;way.

Our Wedding Venue and Weekend Destination:

The entire wedding weekend (Friday 10/9 - Sunday 10/11) will be held at Deer Valley Ranch. Guests are encouraged to stay on-site. Private rooms are available in the main Anderson Lodge, as well as several cabins throughout the property. Update: March 17, 2026: All accommodations (except camping) at Deer Valley Ranch are fully booked. Please see alternate lodging options below Private cabins are spacious and range between 2 - 4 bedrooms with full-sized kitchens, living rooms, decks, fireplaces, and grills! We respectfully ask that if you book a cabin, you ensure that all rooms and as many beds are filled as possible. The ranch is going to fill up quickly, and we need to be efficient with booking lodging! All accommodations on-site are subject to a 2-night minimum, so book at least Friday 10/9 &amp; Saturday 10/11! Camping is also available on site via camper, truck, or tent. Camping costs $50 for the entire weekend. There are no electricity or water hookups available. Bathrooms &amp; showers are available at the pool area.If you plan on camping, please reach out to Robby or Mauri to tell them the type and size of your camper, truck/van, or if you will be tenting it. If you have a larger camper, you will need to call the ranch to let them know your arrival time before you travel. Staff will meet you at the entrance and direct you to a spot so you don't get stuck! DEN is the closest airport to the venue and likely offers direct flights The best option is to rent a vehicle directly from the airport before driving to Deer Valley Ranch

Deer Valley Ranch is located in the heart of the rocky mountains, surrounded by 14,000 foot peaks. Located just 1 mile from Deer Valley Ranch, Mt. Princeton Hot springs is one of the most famous natural hot springs resort in Colorado. It also offers the nearest restaurant to the venue.

Stunning hiking trails are located all around Nathrop, CO. Click on the <a href="https://www.alltrails.com/us/colorado/nathrop" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">AllTrails link</a> for a few nearby options! Several of Colorado's famous high peaks greater than 14,000 feet surround the wedding venue. Depending on weather conditions, they may or may not be climbable in early October. <a href="https://www.14ers.com/14ers" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">Do your research</a> and make a plan before attempting!

Hiking

Located 10 miles past the venue is one of the best-preserved ghost towns in Colorado. Check it out for a look into Colorado's mining past!

St. Elmo, co

Some of the best mountain biking in the state is located within a 30-minute drive of the venue! The nearby towns of Salida and Buena Vista offer extensive trail systems with difficulty levels for any skill set.

Semi-Formal

We're excited to see everyone looking great for our wedding! Think polished but comfortable; suits or sport coats and dresses. Fancy enough for photos, relaxed enough for dancing. Come dressed to celebrate! Comfortable shoes encouraged. Dancing will take place outside on a deck and all connecting roads between events on the ranch are dirt and on an incline. For reference, Mauri will be wearing Birkenstocks!

Weather

It's a wedding in the mountains of Colorado. Be prepared for ANY weather. Snow, rain, sunshine, wind - it could all happen within the same day. Generally, prepare for daytime temps between 50-65 degrees and overnight lows in the 30s-40s. Dinner will be indoors, but dancing will take place outdoors on a deck.

Terrain

Deer Valley Ranch is mostly located on hilly terrain. All roads are gravel &amp; dirt, but concrete paths exist between most buildings. Shuttles will be provided between the main lodge and the ceremony site if needed. It's only about 1/8 mile, but up a steep hill. Dress accordingly!
